Rules

To be run in accordance with current Pony Club Dressage Rules

Open to all current Members of The Pony Club.
In order to comply with music licence requirements competitors must register their music with British Dressage, which has an agreement with PPL.
Also, competitors must be either full members or music members of BD. BD are offering a special rate of £15 to Pony Club members wishing to be music members. Competitors must then register their music with BD on the ‘Music Licence Record Form’.
Both the BD music membership form and the music licence record form are available from the Pony Club office or from BD. License forms can also be downloaded below.
There shall be no height limit.
The test may be performed in any sequence, but must show medium walk, working trot and working canter on both reins. There must be a halt at the beginning and end of the test on the centre line facing the Judge.
When ponies / horses compete as a pair they may separate during the test.
The test may not contain movements above the standard of The Pony Club Open Dressage Test 2008. If included marks may be deducted.
The test should not be of more than 4 minutes 30 Seconds duration. The time is taken from the exact moment when the pony(ies) / horse(s) move(s) forward from halt. The test finishes with a halt and salute anywhere on centre the line.
The music may start either before the entry at 'A' or after the first halt and shall be provided by competitors on their own tapes containing only the music for this particular competition.
Failure to complete the test in the allotted time will not incur time faults, but may be taken into consideration when marking the 'General Impression'.
There are no errors of course and the bell must not be rung should a rider make an obvious mistake, but points may be deducted under 'General Impression'.
The test should be simple and pleasing to watch.
