TO THE BURTON HUNT PONY CLUB

The Burton Hunt Branch of The Pony Club was established in 1947. The Branch covers the area north of Lincoln, stretching up to Grayingham and Market Rasen in the north, nearly up to the River Trent in the west and almost reaching the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds to the east.
Throughout the year the branch puts on a programme of both mounted and unmounted rallies when qualified instructors train members in riding and horse and pony care.
Regular training sessions are held for dressage and show jumping. Other mounted activities catered for are eventing, mounted games, polocrosse and tetrathlon. The branch enters teams in qualifying competitions for the Pony Club Championships in most disciplines.
Training in riding & horse and pony care is available to prepare members for the full range of pony club tests.
The highlight of the year for most members is the week-long annual camp during the summer holidays. Each year the branch organises some major competitons. For 2008 these include a Senior One Day Event, Junior & Novice One Day Event and Autumn Cross Country.
