Scunthorpe Team Show Jumping - Sunday 10th June 2007
Scunthorpe Pony Club hosted their team show jumping competition this year at Epworth Show Ground. The weather was fabulous as the sun shone all day.
Thankyou to Jane Bowman for being team manager for the day and getting all competitors in the right place at the right time (and collecting all our money!) - Jane complimented the children on their attitude and behaviour, saying that she had enjoyed her day.
We had 2 teams in the first class, The blue team of Millie Petchell (only 5years old and jumping off the lead rein), Henry Truelove, Becky Frazer and Jonti Bartlett, all rode their ponies extremely well to take 4th place and the red team which consisted of Hector Baker (fastest jump off time of the competition), Leonie Aitkenhead, Daniella Johnston (riding a 4year old) and Jonti Bartlett secured 1st place with 4 good jump off clears.
In the 2' 3" class there were 15 teams in total and again Brocklesby entered 2 good teams. All 8 of our riders rode extremely well to get clear in the first round which put them in good order for the jump off. The first team consisted of Darbi Johnston Murphy, Ella Frazer, Elva Kate Preston and Hector Baker and they all gave great performances to finish just outside of the rosettes. The second team of Toby Bartlett, Daniella Johnston, Leonie Aitkenhead and Jonti Bartlett all gave good fast clear rounds to win the competition - well done to you all.
