Sams report:

Truffles is my first pony - he is a bay 12.2 hh Dartmoor. I got him in April
2005 so have now had him just over a year. I am now 11 and Truffles is about
17. We got Truffles from a girl called Sarah in Cury Pony Club who had grown
out of him (she was 14) but never wanted to sell him and so we have him on
loan.
Truffles is a perfect first pony because if his rider is young or nervous he
is very slow and quiet but if you can ride and know how to make him go he
will gallop and jump and sometimes be quite lively. He has given me so much
confidence since I have had him.
We have done lots with the Pony Club over the last year and have had great
fun - junior camp at Lands End, D Day at Pridden, the summer show, winter
show jumping, cross country training, triathlon and several rallies. We won
the 'First Year in Pony Club' trophy , the points trophy for '11 years and
under showjumping' at Lands End and also a collection of rosettes from
various local riding club shows.
My favourite discipline is showjumping and I also really like cross country
although some of the jumps can be a bit scary! Truffles can jump
surprisingly high for his size and he is good at doing shortcuts. My least
favourite thing is dressage.
