Show Jumping News - January 2008

There is not a great deal to report at the moment and things have been very quiet recently.  There don't seem to be many team showjumping competitions around at the moment so if you hear of one, please let me know. 

Our first PC competition, the Novice takes place in June.  It may seem a long way off, but I like to start thinking about my team at Easter and that's not that far away!!!  The other 3 competitions, Junior, Intermediate and Open take place on the same day in August and there will be more about them later.

During the winter I run showjumping training on Saturdays at Jane Follos' indoor school in Sicklinghall.  The lessons are taken by Angie Bell, a talented, professional show jumper.  The lessons are open to anyone, of any age or experience.  Angie is very quick to assess the capabilities of horse and rider, so even if you are only just beginning to jump, you are welcome to come along.  The lessons are generally in groups of 2 and for half an hour.  The cost is £12.00.  We tray to have them every 2 weeks.  After Easter the lessons will switch to Angie's yard in Kirby Overblow and will probably take place on Thursdays.  That when we will start preparing our teams.
