Mounted Games

 

Dear All

We are in the process of scheduling the next teams for entry in to the Prince Philip Cup 2008
we need your support to get things moving.

 

For those that don’t know mounted games is

“A branch of equestrian sport in which very fast races, exciting for participants and spectators alike are performed by young people on ponies.  They require a high degree of athletic ability, good riding skills, hand-to-eye coordination, general determination to see things through to the end no matter what, and a competitive spirit which nevertheless requires an ability to work together with other riders and a willingness to help one another. Above all it’s Great Fun!”

Below are the anticipated dates of next years competitions

 

AREA COMPETITIONS – Between Branches take place in April, May & June each year.

Best teams go to the ZONE FINALS which are held in July & August.

Best Junior Teams from the Zone Finals go to The Pony Club Championships in August each year, to compete in the Junior Championship. 

An Intermediate Competition was introduced at The Championships in 2007 and will continue for 2008

The Five Winning Senior Teams from each Zone Final qualify for the Prince Philip Cup Final at Horse of The Year Show in October each year.   The Winner of the Senior runners up competition at The Pony Club Championships takes the 6th qualifying place for this competition

 

 

We are looking to enter at least 2 teams this year both seniors and juniors.

Each team requires 7 riders including a reserve.


We will be holding practices during December, January, February and March, from the practices and training sessions we will select the riders for our two teams.

 

We will require the assistance of rider’s parents as with all pc events help is required to set up and clear up after each practice session and as we get closer to the main competition we will be attending friendly competitions parents are required to help with line judging

 

Below is the criteria required to enter please complete the application and return it to me ASAP

PRINCE PHILIP CUP COMPETITION (SENIOR COMPETITION)
Riders must NOT have attained their 15th Birthday by the beginning of the current year. (2008)

JUNIOR COMPETITION
Riders must NOT have attained their 11th Birthday by the beginning of the current year. (2008)

HORSES   Horses must be a maximum height of 14.2”
