South Pembrokeshire Hunt Homepage

The South Pembrokeshire Hunt Branch was established in 1958 and is part of Pony Club Area 18.

This year we are celebrating our 50th anniversary. Set up back in 1958 by the Master of the South Pembrokeshire Hunt, Mrs Harrison Allen of Cresselly, the Club has gone from strength to strength with currently nearly 80 members.

Last year the branch successfully won the Area Novice Dressage Competition to qualify to represent the Area at the Nationals, the Junior and Minimus Teams both won the Area Eventing, and the Minimus Teams came 1st and 3rd in the Area Show Jumping. This year the Quiz Teams have already won the Area Pony Care Competition and qualified for the Nationals. As well as this, members regularly take part in rallies, stable management sessions, Tetrathlons, Triathlons and Mounted Games.

The committee are currently keen to hear from any ex members or officials of South Pembs Hunt Pony Club who would like to be involved in the 50th Birthday events. They would appreciate any photographs, and encourage all old members to visit the clubs website to find out more about the Birthday Celebrations.

The branch has arranged a wide range of events to celebrate it’s 50th Birthday including a sponsored bike ride in aid of the Pony Club Charity the Air Ambulance, a fete in Carew Cheriton on 29th June, a Novelty Dog Show on Carew Aerodrome on 13th July and a Dance on 30th August. As well as this the branch is also holding it’s annual Camp at half term and the annual Branch Show on  Saturday 17th May.
