4th August 2007

Open Area team

 Nicola Whitmore on Its Toto

Liz Rooney on Cally

Claire McDonald on Harry

Laura Grout on Little Miss Drummer

and

Charlotte Clements travelled as an individual

The day started off rather windy and when the sun came out it was hot, the dressage arenas had flowers at  every corner which did not appear to spook the the horses at all even though the flowers were blowing about, Nic and Charlotte had a good dressage score but the others had a few problems in getting  their horses to settle, but all finished the test with a score, the showjumping took its tole on the riders and many had cricket scores only 8 clears in the whole event, Nic had 8faults, Charlotte had 4, Liz had 4 faults, Laura had 29 faults and Claire had 8 faults but they all went clead cross country which was a great acheivement as again many had riders had problems.

The team finished 5th overall and Nic was 3rd in her arena, Liz was 5th in her arena, Claire was 8th in her arena and Laura was 10th in her arena a good result all round.

Charlotte Clements as an individual finished 5th in her arena very good for her first appearance in open area eventing.

Well done to you all.

INTERMEDIATE EVENTING

Intermediate we had one team of 4 and one individual

The team was

Michaela Harness and Burgandy Jack the Lad

Poppy Drury and Our Henry

Georgina Barth and Mouse

Karen Lamb and Bertie Bubble

and the individual was

Michelle Watkins and Chiquitta

The team was not placed as 2 members did not finished the cross country course, Poppy retired from the cross country course feeling unwell she had been poorly in camp that week and was still feeling under the weather. They were disappointed but I.m sure if they could have been out and about competing before hand it would have made a lot of difference to the team, but so many events have been cancelled due to the wet weather, many had not had a run for over a month, But Karen Lamb on Bertie Bubble did a very good dressage of 34.81 did a lovely clear round in the show jumping and then rounded it off with a clear round cross country, there was only 1 mark between 2nd and 3rd place and Karen finished 3rd and QUALIFIED for the pony club championships at Shelford Manor later this month, Well done.

Michelle was in a mixed team and came 5th.

Fiona Harrison (trainer) with the open event team.
