Venue to be decided
Shelford Manor, Shelford nr Newark was the setting for the pony club championships 2008. Pony clubs from all over the country travelled to part in the championships, so we are talking the cream of pony club riders, every rider at Shelford Manor had qualified as a team or an individual, and to qualify they had to be placed 1st or 2nd in their arenas or 1st or 2nd as a team on the day of the qualifiers.
------------------------------
We had a intermediated dresssage team and an individual intermediate eventer at the championships on 21st August 2007
The dressage team of
Griff Nicholson on Dancing Annie
Georgina Barth on Mouse
Karen Lamb on Bertie Bubble
Charlotte Scott on Black and White Magic.
As a team they were placed 7th overall a really good result
Charlotte came 5th in her arena, Griff and Georgina came 7th in their arena and Karen came 9th in her arena. They all rode really well and the mark difference between 1st and 10th was very small, it was a very tight competition so WELL DONE to you all.

21st July 2007
at
Arena UK
Thank you to all the members and their parents for travelling to Arena Uk nr Grantham and representing the Scunthorpe pony club, the weather was not good but the members all rode well and gave it their best shot in such testing conditions.
The Junior team showed the older members how it should be done, they WON the junior section.
Junior Team
Alice Hill on Mojo
Alisa Drew on Jasper
Beth Green on Jigsaw
Hannah Barth on Oliver
Hannah finished 1st on her arena
Alisa finished 2nd in her arena
Alice finished 3rd in her arena
Beth finished 6th in her arena.
This was a fantastic result for our younger members to win under such conditions and Hannah was not feeling to well, hope this result makes her feel better. Beth Alice and Alisa were competiting at this level for the first time. They all rode extremly well and are a credit to the club. WELL DONE girls.
Pictured below is the junior team with their trainer and chief instructor Tracy Rivett.

The Novice Team
William Torr on Budweiser
Charlotte Sutton on Toffee Crisp
Grace Webster on Savanah
The team was not placed in the team event, but Grace came 6th in her arena, Charlotte came 6th in her arena and William finished 11th
The Intermediate Team
Karen Lamb on Bettie Bubble came 3rd in her arena
Georgina Barth on Mouse came 4th in her arena
Charlotte Scott on Black and White Magic came 2nd in her arena
Griff Nicholson on Dancing Annie finished well down the order as Annie took a dislike dressage on the day and refused to work well in the arena, although she had warmed up really well. I'm sure she will redeem herself at the championships.
The team finished in second place at the intermediate dressage competition at Arena UK. A fantastic result.
The team did really well to finish 2nd in such wet conditions although the dressage arenas were on a very good surface, it was very wet under foot and in the warm up arenas, the team are now looking forward to going to the championships at Shelford in August, we wish them well.
Photo below is Karen, Georgina and Charlotte, receiving their rosettes for individual and team placings, plus the medels, Griff is missing as he had to go home before the presentation.

Open Dressage
Arena UK 21st July 2007
The Area Open Dressage we had a team of 3 members Nicola Whitmore, Anna Sutton and Liz Rooney.
Nicola on Toto finished in 5th place in her arena, Anna on Norman finished 3rd in her arena, and Liz had the same problems as Griff, Cally just did not settle in the arena so Liz retired although again she had warmed up really well.
Well done to Nicola and Anna pictured below getting their rosettes for individual placings.
