Dear Members
I am just writing to thank all the volunteers last Sunday for contributing to the success of our Spring Hunter Trial. After the mindless vandalism & arson of the course on the Saturday night, 450 competitors attempted the course & we only had one casualty as far as I am aware. This event has substantially boosted the Club funds, which will benefit all the members who take part in rallies, training & camp.
I would like to make a special mention to the following:
Lucille for her help running the event, flagging the course, presenting prizes, scoring etc etc.
Clare Hopkins for co coordinating all the helpers.
Iain Pulford & assistant for taking all the entries & issuing the numbers.
Pat Webster for organising all the jump judges.
All the people who helped flag & set up on the Saturday prior (approx. 20 people).
Paul Macdonald who was the course controller & helped clear away at the end of the day.
Jo, Helen & Lucille for doing the scoring.
Ian & Heather Watkins, Heather Rowell & Will Scott for running the time section.
Nina Scott for organising the radios, tiolets, medics etc.
Richard & Glynnis Taylor for doing the starting.
Griff Nicolson for doing the commentary.
All the jump judges (approx. 30 people).
All the people who helped take the marquee down & pack the equipment away on Sunday night.
Alot of people work very hard & give up their time to make these events happen. They are rewarded in fulfilment, knowing that they have been instrumental in a successful event which gives a lot of pleasure to many junior & adult riders.
If you would like to help at future events or if you have any suggestions on how we can improve our events, please drop me a line.
