OUTDOOR RALLY SAT 6TH SEPT CANCELLED 

Due to all the rain we have been having we are again having to cancel this weeks rally.

  

 

****  FUN SHOW SUN 31/8/08  **** CANCELLED ****

Due to the bad weather we have been having we are having to postpone our Fun Day until Sunday 5th October (weather permitting).   The field is unfortunately too wet for us to run the event.  Please let as many members know to avoid people turning up.  Thank You.

AREA SJ AT WARREN FARM RESULTS

Well done and a big thank you to all who represented us at the area showjumping.  After all the changes of date and venues the day went very well and we qualified for the Championships at Smallwood.

Area Novice: Katie Hartley, Emma Hartley, Callum Griffiths and Laura Duffy came 2nd  and qualified.  Alex Cooper, Megan Lewis, Holly Innes and Sophie Brown also did very well.  Laura is unable to come to the Championships so Sophie will be taking her place. 

Area Intermediate: Amanda Barber was 2nd and qualified for the Championships.  Laura Cooper also did extremely well.

Holcombe Novice: Emma Hartley, Katie Hartley, Hannah Cooper and Sophie Brown came 2nd as a team and Katie Hartley was 4th Individually.

FUN DAY FOR THE CHILDREN - SUNDAY 31ST AUGUST

We are holding a Fun Day for the children on the Pony Club Field.  Please try and come and support this event.  We are asking for donations of:  Tombola prizes, bottles (for our bottle stall), and homemade cakes. If you can help please give donations to any committee member or bring the cakes with you on the day of the show.  Further details and schedule will follow shortly.   DONATIONS WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

LEAVE YOUR MUM AT HOME DAY

Venue: Highmoor Livery Stables, Scouthead

Date: Monday 11th August 2008  Arrive: 9.00 for 9.30am   Pick Up: 3.30pm

Price: £15.00

A day of fun, riding and stables management for children 10 years and under without mum! Children can be on/off lead rein - all riding will take place in a confined environment. Those who have not done E, D, D+ Tests will be able to do the appropriate one for them.  All ponies will be stabled on the premises during the day.

Please bring: Yourself, your pony and tack, small grooming kit, appropriate clothing, packed lunch.

TEAM SHOW JUMPING MOTTRAM 17TH AUGUST 08

If anyone would like to take part in team show jumping at Mottram Show please contact me asap. Rider and age. Horse any height. WEST PENNINE BRIDLEWAYS ASSOCIATION

WPBA is here to help you. They campaign to keep existing Rights of Way open and usable. They press for the creation of new routes in particular to farm links. All horse riders have an interest in bridleways, because if we dont use them WE WILL LOSE THEM. They are looking to increase membership and need support. LANCASHIRE MOUNTED POLICE DEMONSTRATION

Penny Farm, Blackpool Weds 30th July 2008 at 6.30pm. Door open at 5.30pm. A rare opportunity to see the horses of Lancashire Police Mounted Branch performing a musical ride and demonstration.  Meet the horses and ponies of Penny Farm. Visit the stables and facilites of this fantastic horse rescue and rehabilitation centre. TETRATHLON TRAINING

We now have a parent who is prepared to do some taster training during the summer holidays.  Tetrathlon is running, swimming, shooting and cross country riding.  If you would like to have a go during the summer holidays to see if tetrathlon is for you then  please contact Dianne Sloane asap to book on.

INSURANCE

We have received some information explaining that insurance from the Pony Club will be void if members have tuition with an instructor who is not registered.  For further information please go onto the BHS website where you will find a list of registered instructors.

AREA EVENTING @ SKIPTON

Our Intermediate Team came 2nd overall.  Well Done to Amanda Barber, Laura Cooper, Carly Woolley and Lizzy Sloane.   Callum Griffiths came 5th in his arena in the Novice Class and Alex Cooper did extremely well completing the course.  Well Done to Everyone!

SHOW JUMPING NEWS

We have now purchased Timing Equipment for the show jumping arena at the points shows.  I am sure you will agree this will improve the overall running of the show jumping ring. 

Area Show Jumping on Saturday 19th July at the Royal Lancs.  I have not had a great response to my request for you to contact me if you would like to go to the Area's this year.  As you can appreciate I can not contact all members.  Please contact me asap if you would like to take part this year.  Thank You Andrea Hartley 07966 593281

SUNDAY 15TH JUNE POINTS SHOW - QUALIFIER

The show will now be a qualifier for HALLAM RIDING CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS (SHEFFIELD).  Schedule and more details for this event will  be at the caravan on show day.

C + TRAINING

C+ Training will commence on Monday 16th June at 6.30pm at Shiloh Farm. Cost to be advised. Couple of places left so contact Jenny Fallon asap if you are interested.

OUTDOOR RALLIES

In 2008 we are changing our system for outdoor rallies.  We will be holding our rallies on a Saturday instead of Tuesday evening.  Each rally will cost £4.00 and must be paid for and booked on with Jenny Fallon at the previous rally.  See Calender for dates.  Our first outdoor rally will be Saturday 5th April 2008 so payment and booking on, must be done at the March indoor rally to avoid disappointment.  If anyone is unsure please contact any Committee member for more information.  Example of groups for each rally:- LR flatwork, LR Jumping, E Test Flatwork, E Test Jumping, D Test Flatwork, D Test Jumping, D+ Test Flatwork, D+ Test Jumping, C Test Flatwork, C Test Jumping, C+ Test Flatwork, C+ Test Jumping, B Test Flatwork and B Test Jumping.
