The cross-country rally at Maddybenny Riding Centre.
On Friday 1st April, 28 members of the Route Hunt Branch of the Pony Club, took part in the annual cross-country rally at Maddybenny Riding Centre, Portrush, organised by Chief Instructor Janet Currie. Under the watchful “eye” of local optician and District Commissioner Sean Laverty, and through the excellent tutelage of Philip White, Eavan White, Fiona Thompson, Vincent Traynor and Aenone Harper, the young riders had a most enjoyable evening. Thrills were plenty and spills were few and far between, as riders and their mounts negotiated the extensive range of challenging obstacles provided by the excellent facilities at Maddybenny. A good turnout of parents and friends watched the evening rally, which took place in fine weather and perfect ground conditions.
