NEWS FROM THE PONY CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

TETRATHLON - Jon and Jessica Earp headed to Hartbury College in Gloucestershire for the Tet Championships where reports back inform that the whole event was 'awesome' - both PWPC members gave their all and had a great time.

SHOW JUMPING - Louise Beechener (Hilltop Baby Blue) contested the Individual Intermediate Competition at Draycott, Derbyshire over two rounds - just tipping the first fence in round one for 4 faults, they jumped a clear in the second round to finish 8th!

EVENTING - Louise was joined by Gina Weedon (Midnight Delight) and Sophie Adams (Surely a Crime) for the Intermediate Eventing Championships where the team finished 9th and Sophie 8th in her arena - a great acheivement especially as there was no discard score - all jumped clear across country within the time.

There are some great stories coming back including a mystery blonde joining Mandy and Brian in bed during the night!  Looking forward to reporting more - pictures etc to follow.

MAIN CAMP AT ION FARM, LOWER GRAVENHURST 27TH JULY TO 2ND AUGUST 2008

'The best thing about Pony Club is camp - no parents, just ponies, friends and lots of fun'

Jackie and Steven Chandler opened up their facilities at Ion Farm to 42 campers and their ponies/horses - it seemed that no sooner had the ponies been secured on lines/stables that the water pistols were out and the fun had begun.

Rumour has it that parents mounted a raid on the campers who went swimming on Monday night and found themselves somewhat wetter on their return from the pool ........!

Camp came to a sad end on Saturday with tired and happy children and ponies heading home for some sleep!  Prior to exiting Ion Farm, a inter patrol relay took place (unfortunately in the pouring rain!), tack and turnout, ODE and patrol prizes given out together with C and D+ and D test passes.

JNA Photography visited camp on Friday for the ODE and pictures can be found on their website.

MINI CAMP AT ION FARM, LOWER GRAVENHURST 24TH TO 26TH JULY 2008

Twenty mini campers had three fun filled busy days at Ion Farm, Lower Gravenhurst with ponies and children alike leaving each day tired and happy.  Lots of riding, tests were taken and a combined training event contested - many thanks must go to Anita Foy for organising Mini Camp, to the parents who provided the instructors lunches and the instructors, Marianne, Lynne, Dawn and Suzanne.  Jackie and Steven Chandler were as generous as always with the lovely facilities at Ion Farm and older pony club members gave valuable assistance to instructors and mini campers.

The first day was captured on camera by JNA Photography, the pictures can be viewed at www.jnaphotography.com - our first mini camp report has been recieved from Barnaby and is available for reading via the following link.
