Prince Phillip Cup.

An update on Prince Phillip Cup activities from Karen Trethewey.

This is an update for the junior Prince Phillip Cup team and the zone finals which took place recently at Taunton.  The team comprised Stacey Skelton on Cracker, Dominic Trethewey and Goldie, Taylor riding Shadow, Alex on Delphi, and Hannah who rode Star.

After coming second at the PPC area final the team qualified for the zone finals. All of them were very excited. We travelled up on the Friday evening and stabled at the race course. The children had a lot fun playing rounders and having a barbeque.

All of the children have had a wonderful time training every week with Amelia and she joined us in the morning of the final and took the children to watch the senior games. The games were terrific, fast, furious and with amazing dexterity.  It had to be seeen to be believed, The Devil's Horsemen eat your heart out!.

The junior games were played afterwards and all the team rode really well.  Its more difficult than it looks to persuade a pony that flags are not scarey.  We won't mention where they came, needless to say they have learned so much and will be better again by next year.

A big thanks to Amelia and Tash who have made practising a pleasure. They have ingenious ways to make children, ponies and parents behave.
