DRESS & RULES FOR RALLIES
NEW HAT RULE FOR 2008
For cross country riding over fences 0.80m and above, a jockey skull cap must be worn. In the programme it says 90cm but HQ have amended the rule to be 80cm.

RIDERS

Hat which meets PC requirements (PAS 105:1998, EN1384:1996, BS EN 1384:1997, must have a BSI kitemark or Snell E2001 with official Snell label and number or AS/NZS 3838 1998 AS/NZS 3838 2004)

Tags should be fitted by a branch official - please ask

please note that from 2008 it will be compulsory at level 3 (.8m) and above to wear a skull cap with removable cover for XC riding, and this is recommended at all levels.

Black or dark blue silk

Hairnet

Body protector, compulsory for XC

white shirt with Pony Club tie or Barlow PC polo shirt

Hacking jacket or Barlow PC sweatshirt (blue)

Pony club badge and felt

beige or cream jodphurs or breeches

Long or short boots with smooth soles

Chaps matching the colour of your boots

No jewellery (other than a wristwatch)

Medical armband for XC
Spurs may NOT be worn unless you are carrying your membership card signed by your DC.

Ponies

No ponies under the age of 4

Ponies to be properly groomed and turned out (it is not necessary to plait for a rally)

Plain black or brown tack

Plain numnahs or saddle cloths

Neck strap
These are rallies held throughout the year in hourly sessions on the 3rd Saturday of the month. Suitable for all members who are confident in jumping a 2 foot fence.
Dressage rallies are held every month throughout the year, usually on the first Saturday of each month. They are flatwork rallies held in hourly sessions and are suitable for all members, whatever their level of ability.

All Day rallies are usually held during school holidays and are suitable for members of all abilities. They may be General rallies, or have a specific theme such as Cross Country or Mounted Games.
Cross country rallies may be incorporated into all dat rallies, or held seperately as timed rallies (usually 1 1/2 hours duration). They are great fun, but you must be competent to ride and jump your pony in open spaces.
