Area Eventing at Offchurch Bury
Sunday 20th July
Two Ivel Valley teams travelled to Offchurch Bury on Sunday 20th July to take part in the Area Eventing.
Unfortunately our Intermediate Team (Alex B, Lauren and Sarah) was reduced to three as Amelia's horse Skippie was still lame (hope he is sound very soon!). All three had commendable dressage scores and Alex B went clear show jumping and cross country. Alex finished 3rd in his arena which meant he qualified for the Championships but is, unfortunately, unable to attend due to prior committements. Well done to you all and thank you Amelia for still going to support!
Our Novice team (Alex D, Ella, Lucy and Katie L) also did extremely well and produced an excellent set of dressage scores, problems show jumping/cross country meant that the team were not placed although Katie, having had 4 faults in the show jumping, went clear cross country and finished 4th in her arena - well done Katie! This is the first time that all of these members have taken part in the Area Eventing and they should feel very proud of their achievements - well done.
Our thanks as well to our fence judge volunteers without whom we would not have been able to take part in this competition - John Brookman, Annie Scofield and Gabriela Feerick.

Calvert Cup
On Sunday 13th July, three of our Seniors took part in the Calvert Cup at Chesfield. This is the first time for many years that we have entered a team.
Alex B, Amelia and Sarah took part in this very challenging competition and, while not placed, all did extremely well. Unfortunately, Amelia's horse Skippie went lame after the Show Jumping and was unable to go Cross Country. Alex and Sarah both rode safely round the cross country which is a Level 5 course (Open).
Well done to all of you.

Vale of Aylesbury Team Show Jumping
A long day on Saturday 5th July for those who took part in this team competition at Hyde Heath. We had entered an Intro, Novice and Open team, although unfortunately we had to withdraw our Open team due to injury/illness.
The Intro team (Annie T, Caroline, Georgie S and Jasmine) were not placed, as a team but did extremely well and everyone gained valuable experience.
Well done to Georgie S who completed a double clear!
The Novice team (Ella, Hettie and Tara) competed as a team of three and once again did Ivel Valley proud. While not placed Ella also achieved a double clear and Tara finished with only 4 faults over two rounds.
Well done to you all.

AREA HORSE AND PONY CARE COMPETITION
Six members of the Club travelled to London to take part in the Area Horse and Pony Care Competition, this is the first year we have taken part in this event, so these members were very much our 'guinea pigs' and they certainly did us proud.
The Junior Team (Hannah, Ella and Annie T) came 4th out of 13 teams, just 3.5 points behind the leaders.
The Senior Team (Alex D, Sophie and Nadia) were 6th, especially good as Nadia stood in at the very minute!
Congratualtions to all of you and thanks also to Catherine Anthony for providing the training.

HOLME PARK STUD OPEN DAY
SUNDAY 29TH JUNE
The Club were very fortunate to be given some complimentary tickets for Holme Park Stud Open Day on Sunday 29th June. This was a wonderful afternoon - the weather was hot and sunny and the horses fantastic, especially the foals. Everyone who attended said what a enjoyable afternoon they had had. Our thanks to Mr and Mrs Attew for allowing us to attend.

IVEL VALLEY
ANNUAL SHOW
The morning of Sunday 15th June dawned bright and clear, much to the relief of us all - after several years of poor weather - one cancelled show, one abandoned half way through and one spent wading through mud - we were owed a good day!
By half past eight the car park was filling up and in no time at all the Classes had all begun.
Jumps were jumped, classes judged, rosettes and cups galore awarded with
lots of success for Ivel Valley members and others alike.
Well done to our Rockets Peter Pan team of Hettie, Tara, Daisey and Annie
who won the team event with the Racers coming 3rd. Our 2'6 teams were also
placed 3rd(Allsorts) and 4th (Dolly Mixtures). Well done also to our Pony
Club Horse/Pony Champion & Reseve - Hettie Rogers on Maralyn and Emilly
Wallis on Charlie (both IVPC members!) and to all our other members who
achieved many successes.
It was a long day culminating in the 3' jumping class which saw the final win
of the day for Ivel Valley member Lauren with her horse King.
Many thanks to everyone who helped and supported us with the Show in any
way at all - sponsors, judges, stewards, arena party, entries tent, show
jumping scorers, putting up rings and tapes, car parking, first aid
providers and so on and so on - we could not have run this event without you.
A full list of results will be published shortly. Meanwhile enjoy some
photographs from the day which are published courtesy of Catch It Quick
Photography (all photographs are on display and available to buy on their
website).

little confusion about the Three Rally Rule -
