Riding and Road Safety
We cant stress how important these sessions are and all members who do not already hold a riding and road safety certificate should attend. Apart from the obvious safety reasons of attaining this certificate, it is also a necessary qualification to progress through to the C Test.
The sessions will be held on:
Saturday 3rd May 2008, 10am - 12 noon at Croft Top Equestrian Centre. Unmounted theory session, so no ponies please, just pen and paper.
Saturday 10th May 2008, 10am - 12 noon at Croft Top Equestrian Centre. Mounted - outdoor arena.
Saturday 17th May 2008, 10am - 12 noon at Croft Top Equestrian Centre. Mounted - outdoor arena.
Saturday 24th May 2008, 10am - 12 noon at Croft Top Equestrian Centre. Unmounted - lecture room.
Saturday 31st May 2008, 10am - 12 noon at Croft Top Equestrian Centre. Mounted - small arena.
Saturday 7th June 2008, 10am - 12 noon at Croft Top Equestrian Centre. Mounted - small arena.
Saturday 14th June 2008, EXAM, at Croft Top.
To take the formal exam members need to be 12years and over and must have attended all the training sessions. Please bring pen and pony. The exam will consist of a theory test, a ridden simulated route and a road route. Two external BHS examiners will be present. All candidates and ponies to be suitably turned out for riding on the road, tack must be in good condition, clean, with no loose stitching.
Each session will cost £10 per member.
