Pendle Forest & Craven Hunt Tetrathlon 10th/11th May 2008

Saturday & Sunday  10th & 11th May 2008.

 

The venue for this event was in an ideal location, namely Pot Haw Farm, Coniston Cold near Gargrave by kind permission of Mr.& Mrs D. Coates. We are indeed indebted to them for all their hard work in preparing a varied and interesting cross country course.  Many thanks must also go to all the organisers and helpers without whom the event could not have been held. The final touch was the gorgeous weather we enjoyed on both days.

The shooting and the swimming took place on the Saturday and the cross country riding and the running on the Sunday.

The results for the Holcombe Pony club contingent are as follows:

Minimus Boys  (8-11 years )           

1st          Kyle Smith                Best swim and best run.

 

Junior  Boys      (12-14 years )       

2nd         Thomas Grundy          Best shoot.

 

Junior Girls        (12-14 years )       .

1st           Bryony Denney          Best shoot and best swim.

2nd          Briea Denney             Equal best run.

 6th          Olivia Jones               Equal best run.

 7th          Sophie Jones

Sophie and Olivia must be congratulated for two very good performances especially as this was their first Tetrathlon.

Intermediate Boys     (any age )

1st         Ryan Smith              Best shoot, best swim and best run.

 

The team results were as follows :

1st         Holcombe Hunters :     Ryan Smith, Bryony Denney, Briea Denney and Kyle Smith.

7th        Holcombe Harriers        Tom Grundy, Sophie Jones and Olivia Jones.

Well done everyone!!  Thanks also to parents for your support and commitment. Excellent results and a most enjoyable weekend.
