Activity Day - Willow Weaving 14th February 2007

Oh Deer!

On Wednesday 14th February 2007, two members of Holcombe Hunt Pony Club took part in a willow weaving activity day at Ski Rossendale, Rawtenstall.

With expert guidance from Jeff Allen, a willow artist, Kyle Smith and Emily Shepherd helped to make two life size willow deer, which will live beside the main ski slope.

This event was organised by Kyle’s mum Gillian who is the Arts Development Officer for Rossendale Leisure Trust, it aimed to enable local children to take part in an inspirational art project during their school holidays.

Both Emily and Kyle worked hard to finish off the pair of deer and both thoroughly enjoyed themselves in the bright sunshine.
