Endurance Riding for Pony Club Members

To promote a discipline which should be within the capabilities of all Members of The Pony Club

To promote a high standard of horse mastership, particularly in developing an awareness of fitness in the horse or pony and the need for rider fitness.

To give an opportunity for young people and their families to have fun and enjoy the countryside and to help promote environmental awareness.


There are 4 categories of ride:


Merlin Pic

The Merlin Ride
2 x 5 miles at a speed of 5.0 - 6.5 mph to be done at Branch level and not compulsory as a qualification for level 2.


Kestrel



The Kestrel Ride
2 x 10 miles at a speed of 5.0 mph to be done either at Branch/Area level or in conjunction with an official British Endurance ride and to include vetting.

Osprey



The Osprey Ride
2 x 20 miles at a speed of 6 - 8 mph - to be done at Area level or in conjunction with an official British Endurance ride.

Eagle



The Eagle Ride
2 x 30 miles at a speed of 6 mph to be done at Area level or in conjunction with an official BERA ride






Endurance Riding and Trekking (£2.00).
