There are a number of opportunities for members to experience Pony Racing at Branch or Area level before entering a race day.

Sunday 29th October

If you are aged between 9 and 15 years old (1st January 2017) and have a pony 148cm (14.2hh) & under – have you thought about having a go at Pony Racing.
The day will start at approx. 9.30am (depending on numbers) and there will be sessions with a jockey coach, a fitness expert and two riding sessions; in the school followed by going up the gallops.

If you would like to use this day as a qualification for Pony Racing (PRA) - then you will be charged an additional £20.  Details will appear when you apply online.


Format Of The Day
The day begins at 9.00am and ends at 4.30pm approximately.
Members and their pony will be assessed as to their ability, confidence & competence and at the end of the day will be informed by the Assessor as to whether they have passed. If this is the case then they will be able to use this qualification to enter a Pony Club Race Day and be eligible to take part in Pony Racing Authority (PRA) races staged in 2017.

The days are open to experienced and non-experienced Members and they will be put in appropriate groups.  The age limit for actually racing is 9-15 years on 1st January 2017. The day will start at 9.30 and there will be sessions with a jockey coach, a fitness expert and then on the pony, a session in the school followed by going up the gallops.

The cost of the day is £30.00

Pony Club Coaches

You are welcome to attend these days as part of your Coach Accreditation - please contact the person on the list below or The Pony Club Office for details.  The cost will be £10 (payable to the Pony Club Area) and you must attend the morning and afternoon session.
