Polo / Polo Training

It is the intent of The Pony Club and HPA that all players will engage with training at Branch, Area and National level to improve their game and their standards of horsemastership and pony welfare.

It is recommended that players 12 years and above should have passed their C Test. Players in LOR, LAN, REN and GAN must have passed their HPA Rules Test.

A training event includes the following activities:

  • PC Branch instruction, including working rallies.
  • PC polo rallies.
  • PC/HPA courses organised at Branch, Area or National level.
  • PC/HPA overseas training.
  • PC/HPA lectures on horse management.
  • PC/HPA veterinary talk.
  • HPA Developement Courses.

Starter Packs

As you attract more children to try polo you may find it useful to purchase some Pony Club sticks and balls for younger children to have a go. • Jorrocks pack of 6 sticks and six hollow balls £185.00
• Jorrock and Handley Cross combined pack of 10 sticks, 10 hollow balls and 10 solid balls £340.00
• Carriage per pack would be £33.00 if your members don’t wish to collect

Pony Club Members are welcome to join their neighbouring Branches for polo, if it is not offered by their own Branch.
