We are delighted to announce the launch of a brand new online resource designed specifically for equestrians to assist them in meeting their safeguarding responsibilities.

This ‘Child Protection for Equestrians - Refresher’ course has been developed by child protection experts at the in association with the British Equestrian Federation (BEF). This online training course is in line with the latest government guidance including Working Together to Safeguard Children 2015 and BEF Child Protection Policy & Duty of Care Guidelines. The course is specifically for those who have completed a face-to-face Safeguarding & Protecting Children Workshop in the previous 3 years.

The training course covers types of abuse, how to identify concerns, relevant legislation and guidance, child protection policies and procedures, how to handle allegations and complaints, and what to do if you have a concern about a child or adults at risk’s safety and welfare.

The course can be paused, stopped and restarted at any time, to allow you to take the course at the pace and time that suits you, and can be retaken as many times as is needed to pass the final assessment, at no extra cost. The course takes around two-three hours to complete, and at the end of the course you will get a personalised certificate valid for 3 years and access to useful downloads and references. The course content and associated downloads remain accessible to you for the duration of your certificate, so you can refer back or refresh your knowledge at any time.
