Rosie has lesson with Olympic Medallist Sharon Hunt

What better way is there to get ready for your Pony Club A test than a lesson with Olympic medallist Sharon Hunt?

Tubtrugs® raised money for the RDA at The Pony Club Dengie Winter League Championships by running a tombola on their stand, with prizes ranging from tubs and tools to lessons with top riders. Rosie Boulton, 21 year old rider from the Pytchley Branch, won the sought after prize of a lesson with eventer, Sharon Hunt.

After coming second in the Open Class at The Pony Club Dengie Winter League Dressage Championships ride off, Rosie visited the Tubtrugs® stand to have a go on the tombola and pulled out the lucky ticket. “It was a shock to win such a great prize,” said Rosie, “I couldn’t stop smiling!”

Rosie excitedly arranged the lesson and found herself heading to Sharon’s base in Suffolk with mum, Jane, and her ex-racehorse, Morcambe on a beautiful sunny day in May.

Sharon began the lesson by getting Rosie to work on her transitions with her lovely bay gelding. Once they were warmed up and Morcambe was working nicely, Sharon started them over a few show jumps and built up to a course. They quickly moved onto Sharon’s brilliant cross country course, flying over all types of fences that they’re likely to meet on a British Eventing course.

Throughout the lesson it was clear to see the pair starting to grow in confidence and take on board everything Sharon was saying.

“It was a pleasure to coach Rosie, who is clearly a talented and dedicated rider,” said Sharon “she was really receptive which showed through her horse, who improved in such a short space of time.”

As Rosie’s lesson came to a close it was clear to see how much fun both she and her horse had.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better lesson and I am so pleased with Morcambe who jumped brilliantly. I have learnt so much from Sharon today and can take this into my Pony Club A test next week” said Rosie, still smiling ear to ear “I love using all of the Tubtrugs® products, each horse has they own colour on the yard at home.”

“This is why we do these prizes, to give our customers opportunities that they may not get otherwise,” explains Tubtrugs® Marketing Executive, Chloe Phipps “it makes it even more worthwhile to see such an immediate improvement and the huge smile on Rosie’s face.”

This is exciting times at the company as we bring all our brands under the one name Red Gorilla and start to work with our Brand ambassadors. They will be doing more great competitions over the months ahead on our Facebook page.
