Polocrosse Players all set for the second ever Home International

Polocrosse players representing England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland are heading to Celyn Polocrosse Club, Cheshire, for the second ever Pony Club Polocrosse Home International, following the event’s successful introduction in 2015.

The event kicks off on 19 July with a three day training camp before two days of hotly contested competition on 22-23 July where players will be giving it their all to clinch the top spot in their sections of Seniors (under 25 years), Juniors (under 16) and Minis (under 13) and get their hands on the Triple Diamond Trophy; presented to the winning nation, based on the match results between the nations, with the scores across all three age groups added together.

The inaugural Home International saw success for England, who took home the Triple Diamond Trophy and the NVABLE Junior Trophy.  Wales clinched the Kimber-Tarbuck Minis Trophy and Northern Ireland won the Scott Open Trophy for coming out on top in the Senior competition, along with the Mark Simkin Memorial Trophy for the Best Sportsman which was awarded to Will Armstrong.

Celyn Polocrosse Club is an affiliated club of the UK Polocrosse Association which is popular with local Pony Club Branches and Centres who they work closely with to help grow and develop the sport of Polocrosse within The Pony Club.

Spectators are welcome to attend the event on 22 and 23 July when play starts at 10am and finishes around 4pm. Celyn Polocrosse Club is located just north of Chester at Rake Lane, Backford, Chester, Cheshire CH2 4DF.
