BEF Chair Steps Down

The British Equestrian Federation Chairman, Keith Taylor, has stepped down after almost two terms of office.

As non-executive Chairman Keith gave countless hours of his time to the Federation. During his tenure he saw awareness of and support for equestrianism in Britain continue to rise. He oversaw unprecedented success in championships for Eventing, Dressage, Jumping and Para-Equestrian Dressage. Particular highlights were the 2012 Olympics in London, where Team GB topped the equestrian medal table with three golds, a silver and a bronze, and again in Rio 2016 with two golds and a silver.

Keith commented “I am very proud and honoured to have held this position of responsibility during what has been the most successful period in the history of the British Equestrian Federation. The Federation has benefitted from substantial support through UK Sport and Sport England with funding from the Government and the National Lottery, which has enabled us to deliver this transformation.”

Lis Astall, Chair of the Council of British Equestrian Federation Member Bodies said, “On behalf of our Council members, I would like to thank Keith for all his hard work in continuing to build the Federation. I wish him well for the future.”

Mr Taylor’s replacement is currently being recruited and will be announced later in the autumn.
