Junior HPA
All those who play must:
- Be a Member of The Pony Club
- Be a Member of a polo club with a confirmed HPA handicap
- Hold a British passport and be principally resident in the UK; be in full time education in the UK; or have been in part-time education in the UK for at least the two previous years
- Play as an amateur without any economic benefit
All teams must be entered by a HPA approved Team Manager and include The Pony Club Branch and the club to which each player belongs. A player may only play in one section of either Junior HPA polo or Pony Club Polo and may not play in more than one team.
The only restrictions on the teams will be age and handicap as at 1st January. Teams should be based on polo clubs, schools or Pony Club Branches and must have the approval of the HPA.
All players must have passed the HPA Rules Test. Gannon and Langford players must also have taken the Umpires Test.
The Pony Club rules governing concussion, accidents and injury, dress, ponies and equipment for ponies apply.
Games will be played according to HPA rules as laid down in the HPA Blue Rule Book.
Matches will be scheduled and administered by a HPA appointed Tournament Director.
Any player can revert to Pony Club Polo but the 14 month rule will apply in respect of a transfer to another Branch.
Matches will be the responsibility of the respective Section Managers but if played on a Pony Club day, The Pony Club will be in charge of the overall administration for the day. As everyone will be Pony Club Member, they will all be covered by The Pony Club insurance.
It is planned that the semis and finals will be played at Cowdray as part of The Pony Club and Junior HPA Polo Championships. The Championships will be administered by The Pony Club.
The Junior HPA Section Managers will continue to be members of The Pony Club Polo Committee.
