Eventing Study Days

The Pony Club Eventing Study Days are aimed at the Organisers, Stewards and Officials of Pony Club Eventing competitions at any level.

These days start at approximately 10.30 a.m. and the morning is spent walking the cross country course with a BE Technical Adviser discussing fence selection, course building and design, the placement and anchoring of portable fences and any other course related issues that come up.  After a break for lunch, the afternoon is spent indoors discussing all the other aspects of organising an event.  This is usually a question and answer session, but if there is anything that you would particularly like covered, we can usually arrange for guest speakers to attend to answer any questions you may have.

This year’s study day dates will be:

  • Friday 5th April at Knighton Down, Larkhill, Amesbury, Wiltshire, SP4 8QT
  • Tuesday 16th April at Eland Lodge Equestrian, Newborough Road, Draycott in the Clay, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 5HD

Applications can made online at http://events.pcuk.org/

We had two fantastic days in 2012 at Eden Valley and Milton Keynes Eventing Centre, catering for over 60 Pony Club Officials involved with Pony Club Eventing.  Many thanks to all who attended and to Douglas Weymouth and David Merrett for their very informative input.
