80th Anniversary
Here at The Pony Club we had 80 years of Pony Club fun to celebrate in 2009. Our 80th year kicked off with a move to our new offices on Stoneleigh Park which were officially opened at the end of 2009 by HRH The Princess Royal.
March saw the launch of Endurance as an official Pony Club discipline.
The Pony Club enjoyed a fantastic presence at The Royal Windsor Horse show, where we had Mounted Games everyday, a Tetrathlon Competition , an individual Show Jumping competition and the return of the Windsor Charity Ride to celebrate both our anniversary and 30 years of DAKS sponsorship.
The second year of the Young Instructors Advanced Course (YIAC) saw our candidates from 2008 returning, a new intake of future Pony Club instructors and a visit from HRH The Princess Royal.
We returned to our National Championships venue of Draycott House for another jam packed four days of competition and the Novice Championships also enjoyed their new venue of Kelsall Hill.
