It is necessary to pass the Lungeing Test before attempting the AH Test.

OBJECTIVE
To be able to work the horse for exercise on the lunge
REQUIREMENTS
Enclosed Lunge Area: Lunge Horse and Equipment Candidates may Lunge their own horse or one provided by the test organiser
Lunge Area: Check for safety, enclosed clear space with non - slip surface
Equipment: Check the required equipment to include lunge rein and whip, hat, gloves and safe footwear.
Fit Saddle: With breastplate, girth and stirrups correctly secured
Fit Lunge Cavesson: Check size, fit straps under bridle tight enough to prevent slipping but without pressure on the soft part of the nose or cheekbones
Fit Bridle: Remove noseband and secure reins in throat lash
Fit Side Reins: Correct height and length clipped back to D Rings while horse is warmed up
Fit Boots: Brushing and overreach boots
Lunge a well behaved Horse or Pony:
Handling equipment correctly and effectively
Use clear commands, appropriate exercises and side reins
The horse should be lunged for a sufficient length of time to show active exercise on an appropriate size circle to include changes of rein.
Cooling Off:
Side reins undone, allow horse to stretch at end of work
Untack, wash or brush off and put tack away correctly
