The Pony Club was founded by members of local Hunts for the benefit of their farmers' and subscribers' children, but hunting with dogs became illegal on 18th Febuary 2005.

As long as hunts act "within the law", then The Pony Club continues to encourage those Members who wish to take part, to do so.

However the personal liability insurance cover provided by Membership of The Pony Club would be invalidated should they decide to hunt illegally.
