About Eric Smiley

Eric came up through The Pony Club before enjoying an equestrian career which has seen him as a team member on four Olympic, three World Equestrian Games and two European Championship teams. Using his expertise and wealth of knowledge Eric has set out to simplify the concept of riding cross country. "At times, too much thought and analysis slows natural responses", says Eric. "By explaining how both horse and rider can learn, we can train the partnership to produce instinctive responses".

About The Book

The book features simple exercises, reinforced with specially commissioned artwork, that are able to be used at all levels of riding, starting with pole work and moving on to jumping fences. The book also focuses very firmly on the topical issue of safety when riding cross country.

"By making it fun but challenging we can develop the ‘I can do that' attitude" says Eric, which of course, fits perfectly with what The Pony Club aims to achieve whilst keeping their Members safe.
