HRH The Princess Royal officially opened the Pony Club's new offices at Stoneleigh Park, on TuesPony Club Office Opening 2009day November 17th.

The Pony Club kick started their 80th Anniversary at the beginning of 2009, with the move from the old office, into an existing building on Stoneleigh Park; the refurbishment of which was funded by the Royal Agricultural Society of England (RASE).

The visit to open the offices was HRH The Princess Royal's last, as The Pony Club's President, as she comes to the end of her seven year term. HRH The Princess Royal took a tour of the office with Judy Edwards, Chief Executive of The Pony Club, where she had chance to chat with the small team of staff, Committee Chairman, Area Representatives and two local Branch Members Lucy Hubbard and Millie Hatton from the North Warwickshire Branch. In a short speech the Chairman of The Pony Club, Cherry Michell, thanked HRH The Princess Royal for ‘inspiring all the Pony Club volunteers' during her term as President and presented her with a framed montage depicting many of her visits with The Pony Club.

Following the unveiling of a stunning plaque to mark the opening, HRH The Princess Royal made a short speech and commented that "The Pony Club and what it means to be a Member has not changed, being a part of The Pony Club is more valid now than it has ever been; not just in terms of the riding but also in terms of being a member of a group activity as a whole".

The visit rounds off The Pony Club's fantastic 80th Anniversary year activities.
