Dress Code
Rally Turnout Riders are expected to attend all rallies smartly turned out, wearing beige, cream, canary or white jodhpurs, Pony Club tie and dark hat cover, Pony Club or dark sweatshirt. Please do not wear any jewellery – this can cause injury in the case of an accident.Boots should be black or brown, with a heel. (No wellies or Mucker type boots to be worn). Half-chaps of the same colour may be worn with short boots.Gloves are recommended.Long hair should be firmly secured above the collar (preferably in a net).Stocks and XC colours may be worn for XC rallies.Waterproof coats to be worn as appropriate. HARD HATS conforming to the current Hat Rule (PAS 015:1998 or EN1384:1996 or BS EN1384:1997 (all must have CE and BSI kitemark) or Snell E2001 (with the official Snell label & number) or AS/NZS3838:1998 or AS/NZS 3838:2003 (with SAI Global symbol)) MUST be worn at all times when mounted and must be tagged – if you are a new member or have a new hat, please get this done at a rally, see Polly or Lyn. BODY PROTECTORS must be worn for all cross-country activities and are recommended at all times when jumping. They should state the Beta Symbol followed by C.E SPURS are only allowed with the D.C’s permission (unless you have passed the B Test) and your membership card must be signed to this effect. Please check with your Instructor if you feel that spurs are an absolute necessity. Horses and ponies should be in good health, with well shod/trimmed feet, and properly groomed (plaiting is not necessary). At Day rallies ponies will be ridden for 3 out of the 4 hours. Tack should be clean, correctly fitting and in good condition.
