Chiddingfold Farmers Tetrathlon - 19th October 2008
We all had a good day at Cranleigh despite it being a bit chilly and overcast, but it took a lot more than that to dampen the spirits of the mini girls who had a fantasic day.
The team of Eleanor Smale, Chloe Wood, Bryony McPake & Georgia Dollemore came 2nd overall against some formidable opposition. Eleanor came lst individually and Chloe 3rd with Eleanor winning the run in a time of 3m 50 (1000 metres) and she and Chloe tied lst for the shoot both shooting 980. Eleanor had a clear X country & Chloe just one stop & there swims weren't bad either!!. Two great performances. Well done.
James Vater, James Miller & Harry Hickmet made up the mini boys team, they won and I think had a good time as well.
The junior girls team of Hannah Simpson, Gemma Cosens & Ashleigh Dollemore didn't fair quite as well, but the junior standard was incredibly high and its given them something to aim for; having said that they all put in very solid performances, and Gemma again won the shoot with a 1000 (her 3rd maximum in competition this year) Well done.
Old Surrey and Burstow Tetrathlon
Tetrathlon results (MS Excel format)
The event was well attended despite very poor weather during the preceeding week and Old Surrey and Burstow members put up some excellent performances. In the Senior girls event, Emma Cottrell won individual 6th place and Bronwyn Franks had a superb shoot with a perfect 1000. Adam King was placed individual 3rd in the Junior Boys event, while the OS&B Junior girls team was placed third, with Emma Stovell taking individual third from large entry. Gemma Cousens was equal first in the shoot with an excellent score of 960. In the Mini Boys section, we were the only branch to raise a team, and Timmy Franks was placed 3rd and James Vater, 4th. The mini girls section had an entry of 30 competitors and our team came a very close second to the East Kent branch by a margin of only 40 points and Eleanor Smale was placed 2nd individually. Chloe Wood scored a perfect 1000 score to win the shoot. There were no OS&B competitors in the Mini mini boys event this year but Emma Thornett and Charlotte Penston scored an excellent 3200 and 3270 respectively, and were not far from the placings in a large entry of 32.
Well done Old Surrey and Burstow competitors!
