Rallies
Please note if you wish to compete in area competitions you must have done at least three rallies from 1st July. Camp can count as one.
This rule will be strictly enforced next year so why not get your rallies in early?
We are aware that rallies may have become a little mundane, boring and the same old thing recently, so with the help of the excellent instructors we have, we are going to try a new format. We want to make the rallies more exciting and challenging for you and your mounts we want you to go home having learnt something, tried something new, achieved something you haven’t done before and had loads of fun so please support us and tell us what you would like included.
This winter we will vary the rallies by including some of the following depending on your ability:
Grid work, jumping against the clock, corners, Skinny’s, Riding your corners on a course, looking for your stride etc Flat work may be varying trot pace, leg yielding, shoulder in, turns on forehand, walk pirouettes flying changes half pass etc. For younger ones it may be working on 10 metre circles and 20 metre circles in walk trot & Canter, practising straight lines & square halts, riding without stirrups, learning trot diagonals and canter leads, how to get your horse on the bit etc for youngest ride may be just learning to canter, or practising sitting trot and rising trot, gymkhana, bending etc the stable management will be on bits & their uses bandaging, feeding, ailments & injuries etc.
We are asking the instructors to challenge you so let us know what you want included
The first rally will be on Weds October 29that BEC Bromyard Please join us from 9am and enjoy bacon rolls and coffee or hot chocolate before you start riding, a variety of snacks will be available after your sessions.
You will have two instructors one for flat work and one for jumping so that we can use the instructors to their strengths and to give the members variety Please book in early as places will be limited for the first rally so that we can get your feedback and plan accordingly The next rally will be on Sat 3rd Januaryalso at Bromyard.
