Presentation Evening

Haslingden Cricket Club - Friday 23rd January 2009.

All members and their families and friends are encouraged to attend to receive awards earned throughout the year for their efforts and achievements.  This year sees an all new format with the introduction of many new categories.  Certificates, Badges, Representation Awards and of course, the Solid Silver, will all be presented to our members.  The night will also include disco and supper.  Tickets purchased before the night £6 members and children under 8years, £10 non members.  Tickets available at rallies or by contacting Kay- 01706 876903. Just a quick message for all of you that have joined in the activities which have included Show Jumping, Children's Hunting Meet, Indoor Cross Country, Dressage  and finally Mounted Games  over the half term break

Well done, the team spirit and friendship is great to see.

Congratulations

To Ben Hobday (ex Holcombe Hunt Pony Club member) on Team Gold and Individual Bronze medal whilst representing Great Britain at the Young Rider European Championships in Germany. 

To Rebecca Harrison and Ryan Smith on being chosen as Ambassadors for Sport in Lancashire.

To Daisy Shufflebottom on gaining the British Horse Society Stage 3 Horse Knowledge and Care Certificate.

 Winter League Dressage & Dengie

Holcombe Hunt Branch of the Pony Club are this year to host the Winter League Team Dressage in addition to the Dengie preliminary and Final Dressage rounds.  There are now two classes of Dengie, novice and open.  We are also running non-dengie classes for beginners, novices and open. Please see 'Dates for your Diary' page for more information or contact Becky - 01942 523870

Show Jumping

We are currently looking for members to join our Show Jumping teams.  The Inter Branch Winter League Team Show Jumping, first heat is at Osbaldeston on 27th September 2008, with further heats throughout the winter months.  The first heat is for members 8-10 years with max height of jumps in first round not to exceed 1'6".  If you would like to be considered for a team please contact Dawn - 01254 388844. Dates for all these heats can be seen on the 'Dates for your Diary page.' 

Mounted Games

We are currently looking for members to join our Mounted Games teams.  Juniors are 10 years and under (lead reins acceptable,) and Seniors are 14 years and under on 1st January 2009.  Ponies must be 14.2hh and under.  Snaffle bits preferable.  We hope to be sending teams, of four or five members, to the Inter Branch Mounted Games Winter League, which is held on Friday nights at Myerscough College, during the winter months.   If you would like to be considered for a team then please contact Dawn - 01254 388844.

Shooting Practice

Shooting practices will recommence on Tuesday 11th November at Holcombe Brook.  For more details see our training page.

IMPORTANT NOTICE!

For all rallies tidy clothes should be worn, shirt, pony club tie and jacket or pony club sweat shirt.  Dark coloured jodhpurs may be worn. Jodhpur boots should preferably have a leather sole and a well defined square cut heel.  Hair must be tied back and fastened in a hairnet, ribbons and plaits are not acceptable. Gloves should be worn. Hats must be of the required standard and should now be tagged. Any hats not already tagged must be done so at the next rally or event.  The riders are encouraged to prepare their own pony and clean the tack.  No member will be allowed to ride in short sleeves.
Bookings to attend rallies should be made on the Friday before the rally at the latest!
Due to health and safety, at mounted rallies the only persons allowed in the riding arenas are the instructors, committee members and leaders of children on lead rein.

With the Holcombe Hunt website now getting busier by the day there is a strong possibility that a photo of your child will appear here in the future. If any parent does NOT wish for their child's photo to be placed on our website then please let one of the committee members know.
