Hickstead Pony Club Championships
Our team of Kerry Grimster, Kristie Grimster, Lilibet Toomey and Amy Halstead came joint second at the Hickstead Pony Club Champs. They had to first qualify in the first round to join the top teams and to jump in the main arena which is a challenge in itself. Well done to the team and especially to Amy who was second as an individual.
Area Show Jumping
The Garth Hunt held their heads high on Saturday at the Area 13 Pony Club Show Jumping Qualifier. We were the only club to enter two teams at the Open level. Our team of Amy Halstead, Kristie Grimster Lilibet Toomey and Kerry Grimster won in the finest of styles with all four team members achieving double clears over a full up, tight, technical course. Our team of Lauren Yallop, Sophie Callard, Allysa Yallop and Emme Clucas were 4th with Emme going double clear and qualifiying as an individual. As 5 of our members were the only competitors to jump double clear, they achieved the top 5 places and all qualified as individuals for the championships except for Kristie did not want to compete as an individual. As all of them were from the Garth Hunt and we could qualify Kerry as an associate we made the decision not to jump off and to take the times from the second round which put Amy 1st Lilibet 2nd Kerry 3rd, Emme 4th and Kristie 5th with only seconds between them so a fantastic achievement. Good luck to all at the Pony Club Championships at Draycott House in Derbyshire this weekend.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR GARTH HUNT TEAMS
Who won the Hickstead qualifier on Sunday 30th May at Lower Peake. The winning team is,
Kerry Grimster, Kristie Grimster, Lilibet Toomey and Amy Halstead. 
Our second team of Sophie Callard, Adam Harvey and Emme Clucas came a fabulous 4th !
Adam, Emme, Lilibet and Amy all had double clears in a competition with very few double clears.

Great News for the Garth Hunt!!
Kerry Grimster has won the Open Dengie Winter Individual Show Jumping Championships and she came second on her second horse and she won the Horsemanship prize. What a result!!
A very tough field including last year's champion from Iveagh in Ireland. An amazing feat. Kerry had come 1st, 3rd and 5th in the Area 13 qualifiers so had a rare opportunity to take two horses to the Championships. Her winning horse, 'Retreats Watch This' had been in the winning National Championship team in 2007, what a star.
Lilibet Toomey who took part in the Intermediate level Dengie Championships was 14th in a very large class.
Look out for Kerry in the Horse and Hound.

The Garth Hunt were well represented yesterday, 14th March 2010 at the Area 13 Winter Show Jumping Championships qualifier sponsored by Dengie.
Lilibet Toomey was third and qualified for the championship.
In the Open Qualifier Kerry Grimster qualified on two horses being placed 1st and 3rd. Emme Clucas was 4th Kerry Grimster 5th on her third horse and Amy Halstead 6th. Well done Garth for having 5 of the top 6 places!!
