The Royal Windsor Horse Show May 2010

Success for Amy Halstead

Amy Halstead on All Rise won the Pony Club Show Jumping at the Windsor Horse Show yesterday (Sunday), to a huge cheer from what must have been many supporters who watched in the rain.

Fantastic result Amy! From unofficial calculations only two clear rounds in the jump off. A tricky 1.15m course that caught out so many.

March 2010

Great News for the Garth Hunt!!

Kerry Grimster has won the Open Dengie Winter Individual Show Jumping Championships and she came second on her second horse and she won the Horsemanship prize.  What a result!!
A very tough field including last year's champion from Iveagh in Ireland. An amazing feat.  Kerry had come 1st, 3rd and 5th in the Area 13 qualifiers so had a rare opportunity to take two horses to the Championships.  Her winning horse, 'Retreats Watch This' had been in the winning National Championship team in 2007, what a star.
Lilibet Toomey who took part in the Intermediate level Dengie Championships was 14th in a very large class.
Look out for Kerry in the Horse and Hound.

The Pony Club Championships

2009

Garth Hunt members have done the Garth Hunt branch proud at the Championships in Derbyshire on 15th and 16th August.

On Saturday we had two Open Showjumping teams -

Alicia Smallman, Amy Halstead, Kristie Grimster and Rhian Denton. This team came a remarkable 3rd and also were awarded the coveted Team Horsemanship Prize, awarded to the team showing the best riding skills.  Rhian Denton was awarded 3rd place individual horsemanship prize. Fantastic results!

The second Open team were Lauren Yallop, Alyssa Yallop, Emme Clucas and Bethanne Rea.  This team all had excellent rounds but were not placed.

Also on the Saturday we had Joules Balfour and Alyssa Yallop competing in the Intermediate Dressage.

Alyssa did a beautiful test but didn't quite get to the rosettes.

Joules had a brilliant day and was 1st making her this year's Intermediate Champion.

On Sunday we had the Open Dressage team competing.

Lauren Yallop, Lauren Cranham, Emme Clucas and Adam Harvey, who all did so very well and finished in 8th place.

A huge well done to everyone who competed and many, many thanks to all of you who give so much support to them.
