NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIPS

REPORT BY ELLIE & ROSIE

AREA DRESSAGE REPORT

Last year we were sweltering in 80 degree heat, this year it was wet and cold. Well what a difference a year makes.

The warm up test in the morning was won by Jordan Groom with an amazing 72%, just beating Josh Hill who scored a brilliant 71%, Chloe Hagger came 5th. Well done.

In the Novice area competition we entered two teams. The Eridge Buttons finished 3rd just missing out on qualifying for the Championships - well done to Daniel Filmer, Ellie Duggan, Jordan Groom and Josh Hill. The Eridge Twirls finished 9th - Chloe Hagger, Rosie Filmer, Anna Hollis and Sophie Grant. There were 22 teams in the Novice, so they did a good job.

Rosie Filmer produced an amazing test to win her arena and qualify for the National Championships - a score of 71% shows how all her hard work over the past year has paid off. Ellie Duggan also qualified with 68% to finish 2nd in her arena. Best of luck in Cheshire. Daniel was 3rd in his arena and Vicki May-Winter who was entered as an individual finished a very creditable 3rd with 62%.

In the Intermediate class we entered two teams - Lauren McLusky, Ross Rist, Emma Whittington & Josie Duggan, and Katie Wallbridge, Kat Sands & Harriet Colderick who finished 7th and 9th from 17 teams. Individually Josie came 8th and Katie, in her first year at the Area dressage, went straight in at Intermediate and just missed out on a place by 0.4%.

Our sole representative in the open was Alycia Port who finished 9th against some very tough competition. It was very tight, with barely 5% between the first 10 placings.

Sharon Newman was there on the day to help warm everyone up and calm the nerves. Thank you Sharon!

DENGIE WINTER LEAGUE DRESSAGE AREA FINAL

Three Eridge members managed to qualify for the Area 11 Dressage Final, held at Golden Cross on Saturday 1st March. Emma Whittington and Slim Jim finished 3rd, missing out on qualifying for the Championships by 0.1 of a mark! Bad luck but very well done to them for coming so close. Jordan Groom and Katie Wallbridge were not placed but performed well with good scores. Well done!
