Congratulations to the team of Antonia Oakes, Samantha Foxall, Olivia Cross, Chloe Vell & chef d'equipe Tracey Vell, who put in a stupendous performance to secure victory in the final leg of the Triangular Dressage competition, which took place on 11 April at Alsager. Chloe scored the highest percentage of the day, a whopping 74.58%, and all four team members performed consistently on the day to a very high standard. Well done!
In the final leg, East Cheshire scored 1392, Crewe & District 1389, North Staffs 1338.
The overall total points for the three branches are:
EC 4147
C&D 4064
NS 3955
Three cheers to all twelve East Cheshire members (including many new combinations) who have taken part in this exciting competition, in which all the scores count. The winners' trophy will be passed around for one month each!
Very well done to both our qualifying members, Sam Foxall & Chloe Vell, who rode exceptional tests to finish in 4th and 5th place in their respective Novice & Open sections. Brilliant!
"Having qualified for the Novice and open competition in the Dengie Winter League we had to travel over to Northop College in Wales for the area final. Once there I warmed up in the outdoor arena then went in to the indoor to ride my test. The results were soon announced and I was presented with 2nd place, qualifying for the national final. Chloe Vell then rode in the open competition coming 4th also qualifying for the national final."
"Two weeks later we travelled down to Moreton Morrell in Warwickshire, where we would also compete in the Dressage To Music team competition with Antonia Oakes and Leona Lock-Williams. After an early start I prepared for my test, getting Jeremy ready and warming him up and I was soon called into the arena. Jeremy started off quite spooky with the flowers and decorated arena, but soon settled before completing a nice test. Chloe was next to ride with her test also going well."
"At the end of a long day we both remounted for the presentation, where I was placed 4th in the Novice and Chloe 5th in the Open."
Sam Foxall
Five East Cheshire members represented the branch in dressage to music classes; highlights include a decisive win on the day in the team competition for the team of Sam Foxall, Leona Lock-Williams, Antonia Oakes & Chloe Vell, 2nd place in the Pairs music class for Sam & Leona, a 1st place in the Novice music class for Chloe, and 3rd & 5th places to Sam & Sophie Watson respectively, in the Open music class. Well done to all!
Congratulations to our team of Charlotte Holdcroft, Daisy Allen, Lauren Hanley & Polly Feather. The team finished second overall on the day, and individual placings include a 1st for Polly in the first test, and a 2nd for Charlotte, also in the first test. A big thankyou goes to chef d'equipe Jane Whitney.
With one more Leg of the competition to go, the running totals for the three branches are as follows:
North Staffs 2617
Crewe & District 2675
East Cheshire 2755
Good luck to our team of Sam Foxall, Antonia Oakes, Olivia Cross & Chloe Vell for the final Leg, taking place this Saturday, 11 April, at Alsager
