 Cheshire Show - Team Relay

picture_016_cheshire_show.jpg

The Branch had two teams in the exciting Pony Club inter-branch team relay competition on the first day of the Cheshire Show this year.

Our team of Polly Feather, Harry Moran, Lizzie Willis and Kirsty Monks came in third place overall with an excellent performance and our team of Kate Barnes, Katy McKeown, Ashley Daniel and Antonia Oakes were very unlucky to miss out on the semi-finals this time. However, both teams excelled in the Tack and Turnout competition, taking first and second places: Kate, Katy, Ashley and Antonia coming first and Polly, Harry, Lizzie and Kirsty coming second. Both teams positively sparkled – well done to you all!

We are also going to be sending a team to the Nantwich Show on July 29th so if you are free, come along and support us.

Cheshire Forest Hunt Kennels Visit - Friday 5 June

Here is a photo of a few of our members who attended the puppy judging at the kennels of the Cheshire Forest Hunt.  Despite the cold weather everyone had a good time and Alex Herring won the free day's hunting by having the winning puppy.

Hunting Update

Thanks to those who have already responded to the "Interested in Hunting?" notice on the website.  I am sure there are more of you who will want to go hunting this winter and it is important that we plan for this early to ensure enjoyable and safe hunting for all so if you have not yet got back to me and you do want to learn all about it please contact me so I can arrange.

The Hunt will be arranging a Hound exercise Beach Ride at Hoylake during August which will be great and a good test for your pony out hunting as well as an opportunity to ride on the Beach so keep your eye on the website for that date!

I am also looking for volunteers on Hunt days to be the "children's representative" on horseback.  This will involve wearing an armband to identify yourself, helping any children who are in difficulty and generally keeping an eye on them.  You will benefit from reduced hunting cap for the day(s) you are allocated so please let me know if you can do one or more days.

As ever, we can't organise anything, dates, venues etc unless we get your input and feedback so please call and don't put it off until its too late.  Our aim is simply for everyone to understand and enjoy their hunting and most of all to be safe so its important to prepare.  Call Steve on 01606 834593 or email on This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it about any of the above or with any questions.
