WINTER LEAGUE SHOW JUMPING :

These are interbranch competitions within Area 5 which take place from Oct to Feb at various indoor and outdoor locations in Area 5, generally on a Sunday.  There are 4 different heights :

 2,3'/2'6' (10 and under); 2'6"/2'9" (13 and under); 2'9"/3' (Open)and 3'3"/3'6" (Open).

 Riders compete in teams of 4, although only the best 3 scores count and ride two rounds.  Riders can also compete individually if they so wish. These competitions are marvellous experience at jumping a course and get you out and about during the winter months. There is usually a fun atmosphere and good team spirit!

After these preliminary rounds the first four from each competition qualify for the Area competition and the first four from each qualify for the Championships held shortly afterwards.

The Dengie Qualifiers are separate area qualifiers for a national winter league competition for individuals only.  First round approx 2'11".

WINTER LEAGUE DRESSAGE: 

These are individual competitions held between branches of Area 5.  Preliminary rounds run from Oct. to Feb. and the first four from each competition qualify for one of the 19 Area finals.  These are held in March, and the first two from each section at each Area final qualify for the Championships held later on in the month..

The Test for ALL Preliminary rounds is " Novice: Pony Club Novice Dressage Test 2009" Open: "Pony Club Intermediate Dressage Test 09" (both can be commanded)

The Test for ALL Area Championship rounds is : Novice: "Novice Dressage Championship Test 2005".  Open : "Open Dressage Test 2008" (both cannot be commanded).
