Please contact Cindy Wimble if you want to take D, D+, C, C+, or B tests.

All members are encouraged to take tests at the appropriate age and ability; your instructor will be able to advise you, if you are unsure if you are ready. Anyone wishing to take a C or C+ test who has not already filled in an application form please do so and send it to Cindy Wimble as soon as possible with an S.A.E. You can download a Test Application Form from the website under Activities. ^.^{B Test and AH Tests:

Tests: felts are worn under your Pony Club badge. Only wear the one for the latest test passed. The Test Card tells you what you need to know for that particular test. If you have not got a Test Card for the next test you should be taking, send a SAE to Cindy and she will send you one. You have to start with D test, however old you are!

D test – yellow felt – is taken at summer camps for members who are 8 or over. This is done with an examiner under test conditions.

D+ test – white felt - is taken from 10 years old and is usually taken at summer camp. Once you have passed D test you will get a white D+ card. You can get it signed off at rallies by your instructor. When everything has been signed off, you can hand your card in and get your white felt and certificate.

C test – green felt – is taken from 11/ 12 years old and has two examiners, one for riding and one for stable management, on set Test Days.

C+ test - pink felt - is taken by two examiners, one for riding and one for Stable Management on set Test Days. You must be at least 14 years old and have passed Riding and Road Safety.

You cannot be awarded your C or C+ certificate and felt until you have passed your Riding & Road Safety test

E test This is a new test this year for younger members. Hopefully we will be introducing this over the summer, but haven’t quite worked out the details yet. Watch the website.

B Test and AH Tests:

Achievement Badges

There are many different badges to be achieved on Horse & Pony Care and the remainder on General Knowledge, the Countryside and the Environment. These are aimed at members 6-12 years and working towards D, D+ and C Tests. The badges can be sewn onto the sleeves of PC sweatshirts (in Brownie badge style).

RIDING AND ROAD SAFETY

Contact: Clare Bromfield for details of who is running the next course.

Members may not be awarded their C or C+ test until they have passed either Riding & Road Safety Achievement Badge, or the Pony Club Riding & Road Safety Test, or the BHS Riding & Road Safety Test. Courses are being run throughout the year.

For B Test you need either the Pony Club or the BHS Riding & Road Safety Test.

If you want to go on to BHS Stage examinations you must have the BHS Test.}
